Features:

* 3D Buildings: Import 3D objects such as buildings, bridges, obstacles

UGCS Versions: Open=20 3D Buildings , One=100 3D Buildings, Pro=Unlimited 3D Buildings

3D Buildings feature in UgCS allows the operator to import 3D models into the software thus it automatically calculates flight paths around the obstacles.

Often the route for a drone is located near buildings or other obstacles other than terrain. To avoid collisions the flight path needs to be calculated so that it avoids obstacles. Instead of manually setting each waypoint to avoid an obstacle, it is often easier to import a 3D object into UgCS to make the vehicle avoid it automatically.

To import a 3D object into UgCS, you simply need to find the building you want to import in Google Earth, click on it, download the file with the extension .kmz and import it into UgCS. You can also import 3D models from sites like 3D Warehouse or even create them yourself in Google SketchUp! Please consider license conditions for each 3D model source you are using!

* KLM Data Import: Customizeable maps feature

UGCS Versions: Pro Version Only

KML data import allow you to customize the map to your needs and add objects to it. This feature is available to users of our Pro version.

KML stands for Keyhole Markup Language. By importing KML data files into UgCS you are able to fully customize the map for your needs. Place marks, images, text descriptions and even 3D models can be imported into UgCS using KML data.

* Custom No-fly Zones: Disable and enable no-fly zones

UGCS Versions: Open=No , One=No, Pro=Yes

The custom no-fly zone feature can only be disabled in the Pro version.  In the Open and One versions this feature is enabled only.

* ADS-B Receiver: Monitor aircraft in the vicinity of your mission

UGCS Versions: Open=No, One=Yes, Pro=Yes

ADS-B feature in UgCS monitors close-by aircraft and sends an operator warning signal if an aircraft is approaching the drone. ADS-B helps you to be safe and more aware of what is going on around you in the air.

ADS-B is the short for Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast. It is a form of cooperative surveillance. An aircraft determines its position through satellite navigation and broadcasts it so that it can be received by air control ground stations or other aircraft.

Airspace is primarily populated by manned aircraft like gliders, airplanes and helicopters. Flying a drone requires caution because the operator can not always be aware of other aircraft in the vicinity.

By using UgCS with ADS-B support, the drone pilot is notified through UgCS about other aircraft in the area provided that they are equipped with an ADS-B transmitter.

To use ADS-B with UgCS you need an ADS-B receiver connected to your ground station antenna and computer (via USB).

A green ADS-B indicator light lights up in the UgCS interface meaning that ADS-B is up and running. That's it.

* Video Recording: Receiver first person view and record your missions

Many types of cameras allow FPV footage from the flight to only be seen in real time without the possibility to record the mission at the same time. By using the video recording/live video feed the drone's onboard FPV feed will automatically be saved to the ground station device (computer, laptop, etc.)

* Camera Footprint: Receiver first person view and record your missions

UGCS Versions: Open=No, One=Yes, Pro=Yes

The camera footprint feature allows the operator to see which area is being filmed by the on-board camera of the UAV.  On the map the camera's field of view is highlighted in real time. Allowing for more efficient route planning when shooting a video, doing aerial photography or surveillance missions.

* Multi-operator/Multi-drone: Receiver first person view and record your missions

UGCS Versions: Open=No, One=No, Pro=Yes

Multinode: Multinode installation offers users of UgCS Pro version the possibility of running separate parts of the ground station on separate machines – ex. Server running on one computer, Client on other and VSM on another.

Multinode installation allows the operator to connect remotely to the server and to VSM. This is useful when operating multiple UAVs simultaneously. Since all the complex flight calculations are done on the server, a less powerful machine like a tablet can run the client. You can have separate computers for VSM and have all UAV related communication channels connected to it without the need of connecting all those annoying transmitters and wires to the pilot's device. Multinode installation is required for the multi-operator feature to work.

This is very useful if, for instance, many drones need to be controlled and monitored at once or there is a need to create a central command center.

Multi-operator support allows users of the Pro version to connect many an unlimited number of clients to a single server. The feature allows easy control and monitoring of multiple drones at the same time.
